Avlis

Today’s episode of Northside Chronicles features Avlis. A writer from the Cab Line who has been producing quality pieces from a young age. He has always been able to effortlessly change his style over the years. Wether  it was piecing, bombing or throw ups he always produced the goods. Check it out below 

Q - First memory of graffiti

A- I think it really kicked off around 09 - 10' for me. I was slanging at the time and had a local hardware that was selling goodies like old krylon, rustos, dulux and american accents for 2$ a can and by that stage i had met a couple of local writers that showed me how to rack paint and the art of mixing dymark to make it all work. I painted almost every day and night until i got pinched in 2011 with over 400 charges. 

That only taught me not to shit around my own backyard and wisened my young teen mind up a little bit. I kept painting pretty heavily after that with few 'redacted' words.

Now days after a hiatus I'm only really active on legal walls...

Q - Favourite part of Cabline

A- I was painting a'lot of drains, bridges and highway spots before i really got into tracksides but my stomping grounds where from Narangba to Caboolture. So anywhere you could manage a peice along that section was copping a hiding haha. 

Q - Favourite northside writer

A- I always loved seeing an old school Eikas, or Sina and Hewda link ups. i think that was heavily insipring growing up, that and berms handstyles.

Favourite northside writer though would probably have to go to Slesko. He's north as fuck haha. I learnt a'lot about style in the early days from the bloke and mans still runs fresh piece to the day.

Q - Most memorable mission

A- Ive got plenty of good stories but i think for legal reasons, no comment haha. 

Big ups to all the crew though and all the heads ive met along the way!
